Adtrak are proud supporters of Framework, a Nottingham-based charity providing housing, health, support, employment and care services for the city’s most vulnerable people. Helping people in a variety of circumstances, Framework’s services allow people to achieve independence and financial stability. Their work is immeasurably important to so many people in Nottingham, and we’re very proud to support them in any way we can.
This summer, some of our staff are raising money for Framework through the medium of cardio: a 10km run and a 100 mile bike ride! (Yes, one hundred miles). We have 13 people taking part across the events; some runners, some riders, and one brave (or foolish) staff member, Alasdair doing both events. Let’s have a rundown of each event:
The Wollaton Park 10k Run
Starting just outside the beautiful, scenic grounds of Wollaton Park, the 10K consists of two laps of the park across varying terrains. Round the lakes, through the woods and along the paths of the park, runners will tackle the 5k laps with prizes being awarded for 1st place in the following categories: Male Senior (16-39), Male Veteran (40+), Female Senior (16-39), and Female Veteran (40+). The race is sponsored by Legends Gymnasium, who will be providing a pre-marathon warm-up, as well as promotional offers and the chance to purchase gym equipment. The starting gun will sound at 10am on Saturday, 15th June.
The ‘Little’ John Bike Ride
A gruelling 100 miles, The ‘Little’ John takes riders around Nottinghamshire, encompassing all corners of the county, from Ossington to Langar. The ride incorporates a Category 5 climb – it’s not all smooth, flat roads. In order to compete in the event, riders must be able to complete the 100 miles in 10 hours – easy! The race takes place on 23rd June, with other rides including The Robin Hood (25 miles), The Friar Tuck (50 miles), The Maid Marian (75 miles) and The Sheriff (125 miles).
We’re fully behind the Adtrak staff taking part in these events, and we’re even providing them with some bespoke Adtrak kit to run and ride in – you’ve got to look the part, too! It’s a privilege for us to be raising money for a brilliant organisation like Framework, so if you’d like to donate to their fundraising efforts, any contribution would be massively appreciated.
