Earlier this month, we were really excited to be asked to attend the Google Partner Summit 2016.
Held at Google’s Mountain View headquarters in San Francisco, the Summit is Google’s annual gathering for digital marketing specialists and involves companies from their Partner programme getting together to listen to panel discussions and share the latest industry trends and strategies.
Our very own Chris Rutter, Head of Paid Marketing, and Mark Neale, Assistant Head of Paid Marketing, were flown to San Francisco, where they joined roughly 900 people from more than 500 digital agencies.
The event was host to companies from all across the world who, as a combined total, are responsible for 9% of the world’s total Google advertising spend.
Industry Talks
Whilst there, Chris and Mark listened to talks from some of the industry’s most renowned experts, including Ruth Porat, Google’s CFO, Margaret Neale, a management, negotiation and innovation manager at Stanford University, and Brad Bender, Google’s VP of Display and Video.
They covered topics and participated in focus groups including:
-Existing marketing trends in the industry
-Future thinking and harnessing current technology to better meet consumer needs
-Online video and its effect on the marketing environments
-The benefits of diversity in the workplace
-What to learn from Google’s HR processes
-The benefits of operational transparency
Google HQ
Once the business bit was over, Chris and Mark even got a sneaky look at some of the newest products and services Google are working on, including their Nest products, the much anticipated Pixel phones and their extraordinary augmented reality viewer, Daydream.
Chris and Mark had a fantastic time at Google and were delighted to be a part of the Summit.
“It was awesome, amazing and awe-inspiring”, Chris said. “It was an honour to be invited to California for the Partner Summit and the experience has reinforced to me that Adtrak is an industry leader in the services we offer, the people we employ and our depth and breadth of knowledge in online marketing”.
Mark added that: “San Francisco was the perfect backdrop to host Google’s Partner Summit. From the hustle and bustle of the Financial District, to the serene Fisherman’s Wharf, Fog City really has something for everyone. Listening to the talks, it was nice to see that Adtrak already focuses on these areas and creates high performance teams, with a good work-life balance, whilst providing our customers with the best service and products available.”
